Jesus Will Meet You There
Paul Tautges shares powerful words from Steven Curtis Chapman’s Beauty Will Rise. The lyrics include:
When you think you’ve hit the bottom
and the bottom gives way
and you fall into a darkness
no words can explain
and you don’t know how you make it out alive
Jesus will meet you there.

Commands?
Jay Adams notes that someone has found over 650 commands in the New Testament. He goes out to explain, and I agree, that, “And, yet, there are those who believe that any command given to another believer is merely law or works…”
In other words, New Testament commands are not “the law or legalism.” And, pastors, biblical counselors, and spiritual friends should (is that a command???) exhort one another with New Testament imperatives (commands).

Toxic Love
We all know the biblical description of agape love from 1 Corinthians 13. Leslie Vernick shares Pam and Bill Farrell’s use of that passage to define “toxic love.”
• Toxic is impatient and unkind.
• Toxic is always envious and jealous.
• Toxic boasts and is self-glorifying.
• Toxic is arrogant and proud, self-centered and rude.
• Toxic easily loses its temper and keeps track of all offenses and holds a grudge.
• Toxic is thrilled when people look and feel stupid.
• Toxic loves a mistake because she can tell everyone of the error and replay it over and over.
• Toxic runs to evil, never protects others, and gives up on people and life easily.”
