Every Life Has a Story
I’m teaching this week at Moody Theological Seminary on Pastoral Counseling.
I always start the class by sharing a Chick-fil-A video entitled Every Life Has a Story. As you’ll see below, it’s a moving video that helps us to see, listen to, and hear well every person we come into contact with.
As it says at the end, “Every life has a story…if we only bother to read it.”
In our class, I highlight the biblical truth that we must listen to every person’s story in light of God’s story. We must interpret every life story by embedding it in Christ’s grand redemptive story.
Biblical pastoral counseling involves listening well together to our counselee’s story and to Christ’s gospel story at work in our counselee’s life.
Enjoy…and let’s listen with both ears to our friend’s story and to Christ’s story…

How can we as God’s people listen well to one another’s stories and to Christ grand redemptive story?

Bob,
When I read your title of this post my first thought was the CFA video with the same name. I love how you use it to help teach on pastoral/biblical counseling!! CFA created it as a visual demonstration for crew members to better understand that everyone in their restaurants has a story and knowing it is vital in creating an emotional connection with them. Similar to the connection between a counselor and a client.
Look forward to seeing you and your BCC team members again in December!!
