In my January 1, 2015 post, I shared about my resolution to make 2015: The Year of Gospel-Centered Living.
Today, I outline my 8 Gospel-Centered New Year Resolutions for 2015.
1. Resolved: I will seek to discover wisdom for how to live from the wisest person who ever lived—Christ!
2. Resolved: I will seek to interpret life through the lens of the Christ of the cross.
3. Resolved: I will seek to increasingly reflect the heart of Christ.
4. Resolved: I will seek to love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and spirit.
5. Resolved: I will seek to live out who I already am in Christ—a justified, reconciled, regenerated, and redeemed new creation.
6. Resolved: I will seek to apply the truth that sanctification is a community journey by journeying together with my local church community in living out our newness in Christ.
7. Resolved: Because Christ has already won the final victory, I will seek to live today in light of my future hope.
8. Resolved: Because my purpose in life is to reflect Christ, I will seek to apply my complete salvation through God’s grace, Spirit, Word, and people.

Will you join me on my journey? Which of these 8 gospel-centered resolutions most resonate with you? Why?

Steve, Thanks for sharing. As for practical suggestions for # 6: patience. It takes time for a congregation to move from surface relationships to trusting relationships. It really involves a mindset shift where we take on a Hebrews 3:1-15 and Hebrews 10:19-25 mindset for the purpose of church: we are here to encourage one another to live out the gospel on the basis of what Christ has already done for us. It means every small group meeting, every Sunday school class, every fellowship social, etc., needs to have as its goal “gospel conversations” where we seek to encourage and exhort one another…
