Podcast Interview on Marriage and Family Counseling: Listen Here.
How To Help Troubled Marriages and Families
So much of our training in biblical counseling is in individual counseling. Yet, increasingly pastors, counselors, and church leaders are being asked to help with difficult marriages and complex family issues. This is why I wrote Gospel-Centered Marriage Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors and the companion book, Gospel-Centered Family Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors.
Speak the Truth Podcast
The leadership team at The Association of Biblical Counselors invited me to join their Speak the Truth podcast to discuss the two books. I enjoyed my time with Mike, Shauna, and Jeremy.

Here’s how they describe the interview.
Summary of Interview with Dr. Bob Kellemen
In this episode, hosts Mike, Shauna, and Jeremy talk with our special guest, Bob Kellemen to discuss his new two-book series on marriage and family counseling; Gospel-Centered Marriage Counseling and Gospel-Centered Family Counseling: Equipping Guides for Pastors and Counselors. And just as the titles suggest, these books are a “must-have” for helping equip the local church and biblical counseling organizations’ counselors. They discuss how to use these resources as user manuals – helping equip the counselor to equip the couple and the family to be their own best biblical counselors. Bob shares the four compass points, sustaining, healing, reconciling, and guiding to help the counselors think through the theology of marriage and family counseling as well as a methodology for equipping couples and families.
On September 15, 2020, Baker Books released Dr. Bob Kellemen’s 19th and 20th books—a two-book series on marriage and family counseling:
- Gospel-Centered Marriage Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors
- Gospel-Centered Family Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors
