I’m Back!
Over the past twelve months, I’ve posted an average of 6.5 posts per week. Just about every single day.
Ah, but over the past ten days, I’ve posted only twice. That is totally out of the ordinary for me.
If I had planned it ahead of time, I would have told you, my loyal readers.
But, alas, it just kind of happened. Lord willing, it won’t happen again any time soon.
What was I up to?
1. Family: With Thanksgiving, we had our daughter back home with us from graduate school. And we spent a lot of time with extended family. Even had the annual family flag football game…no injuries!
2. Book Six: When I have not been playing, I’ve been working almost every day on Equipping Counselors for the Local Church: The 4E Ministry Training Strategy. I’m on a self-imposed deadline of December 31, 2010. I finished chapter nine yesterday, and I have three more chapters to go. I’m getting very excited about the book. I’ll have to write more in another post soon to tell you more about it.
3. The Biblical Counseling Coalition: As many of you know, I am working with Steve Viars, David Powlison, Garrett Higbee, Tim Lane, and Randy Patten as we launch the Biblical Counseling Coalition. Effective January 1, 2011, I will move from the role of Launch Director to the role of BCC Executive Director. I’ve been putting a lot of planning into that transition. Additionally, this coming Sunday evening and all day Monday, about 30 leaders in biblical counseling are gathering near Chicago for our 3rd BCC summit. Lots of exciting plans and great relationship building!
4. Speaking on God’s Healing for Life’s Losses: I’ve also been active with my fifth book God’s Healing for Life’s Losses, speaking, doing interviews, and crafting a new resource: Healing for the Holidays (see more below).
