Redeemed Personality Inventory
The goal of our lives is to become more like Christ? How can we know if we are making progress toward this ultimate life goal? What does it even look like to be like Christ?
In Gospel Conversations I use the life of Christ to develop the Redeemed Personality Inventory. It is a gospel-centered way to describe what it looks like to be like Christ in our relationships, thought life, motivations, and emotions.
Gospel-Centered Relationships: How Christlike Are My Relationships?
- How well am I clinging to God/running home to the Father, delighting in and trusting Him like a faithful son or daughter?
- To what extent am I enjoying Christ more than any other joy in life?
- To what extent am I depending upon the Holy Spirit to empower me to become more like Christ?
- How well am I loving others deeply from the heart?
- To what extent am I resting confidently and comfortably in who I am in Christ?
Gospel-Centered Thought Life: How Christlike Is My Thinking?
- To what extent am I valuing what God values?
- To what extent do I see God as my chief good and supreme satisfaction?
- How well am I allowing God’s eternal story to invade my earthly story?
- How well am I stirring up wise and wholesome thinking in my mind?
Gospel-Centered Motivations: How Christlike Are My Choices?
- To what extent am I finding life by dying to myself, taking up my cross, and following Christ?
- How well am I living to empower, minister to, and shepherd others?
- To what extent am I asking, “What would courageous trust in Christ look like in my relationships?”
Gospel-Centered Emotions: How Christlike Am I Handling My Emotions?
- How well am I practicing emotional candor—admitting, experiencing, and identifying my feelings?
- How well am I practicing emotional lament—soothing my soul in my Savior?
- How well am I practicing emotional maturity—handling my moods with a ministry focus?
- How well am I practicing emotional empathy—recognizing and connecting with emotions in others?
