A Review of ABC Called To Counsel 2026 Conference

The ABC Called to Counsel conference is not new to me. I’ve been participating in it for several years, whether as a speaker, emcee, or attendee. But this year was different. Here are a few noticeable and impacting elements worth highlighting.

A Visual Refresh

ABC introduced a new look and it’s a thoughtful rearticulation of their purpose and convictions. The new logo is more than design. It functions as a kind of visual representation of their core convictions. Four graphics come together as one.

First, the Bible, which anchors everything.

Next, light extending outward, reflecting truth and love moving beyond conferences into broader spaces through their podcast.

Then a pillar represents the steady work of equipping through certification.

And the globe points to a growing vision for biblical counseling to reach far beyond its current context accomplishing global impact.

What is most compelling is where these elements meet. At the center is the cross. It is a clear reminder that all training, care, resources, and expansion must remain rooted in the gospel.

The logo works because it reflects not just a brand, but the deep convictions held by the organization. You can read more about it here.

Conviction with Compassion

But there’s more! The aesthetic shift feels aligned with who ABC is and what they are doing. The warmer tones reflect something many have experienced firsthand when engaging with those connected to ABC. There is a seriousness about Scripture, but not a coldness. There is conviction, coupled with a felt warmth. Whether that was intentional or not, it works! The visual identity now better reflects the relational reality that has been present for years.

Equipped to Counsel: Spanish Edition

Beyond the rebrand, one of the most encouraging developments was the announcement that the Equipped to Counsel curriculum is being translated into Spanish through a partnership with a seminary in the Dominican Republic. This is a significant step toward greater accessibility in biblical counseling training. Spanish-speaking individuals and churches in the United States will benefit, but the reach is broader than that.

Translation of this material reflects a growing commitment to equip the global church to care for souls in biblically faithful contexts across languages and cultures. Learn more about that here and let me personally encourage you to consider supporting this project.

Practical Resources

Alongside this, it is evident ABC continues to invest in developing practical resources. Digital tools for counseling sessions, ongoing continued education materials, and other resources continue to develop.

It is one thing to put on a conference once a year. It is another to be equally invested in equipping people for the ministry that happens the rest of the year. I know I am not alone in expressing gratitude for that.

The People

For all the newness, what stayed with me most was not the rebrand or the resources. It was the people.

There is something deeply encouraging about seeing pastors, licensed counselors, lay counselors, ministry leaders, and parachurch workers sit side by side, not competing for influence but sharing a common aim.

Conversations were marked by encouragement and thoughtful curiosity. There was a visible effort to maintain unity without flattening differences. That is not accidental but reflects the people behind the logo.

Holding Together What Is Often Divided

ABC seems committed to holding together what is often divided. In a space where conversations can easily become polarized, they hold a deep confidence in Scripture alongside a thoughtful awareness of the complexity of human experience, including the reality that faithful care may look different depending on the need of the moment.

Not everything is reduced, and not everything is overcomplicated. There is a theological steadiness that allows for both clarity and compassion, shaped by a posture of understanding and a commitment that pursues unity without uniformity all in the spirit of Ephesians 4:2–3. This gives me great hope and excitement for the future of biblical counseling.

A Community

All in all, this conference felt less like an event and more like a community. Smiles, reunions, shared meals, and meaningful conversations all carried a common thread. People were not gathering around a person, an idea, or an organization, but around a shared commitment to follow Jesus and reflect his care.

Who Is ABC?

If the rebrand says anything, it is this: ABC is not trying to become something new as much as it is seeking to more clearly express what it has always aimed to be:

A people anchored to Scripture, shaped by the gospel, committed to equipping others, and increasingly invested in the global body of Christ.

And if this year’s conference is any indication, that vision is not only being stated, it is also being lived.
